Obituaries

LEWISBURG - Mildred E. (Smith) Brouse, 86, died Monday, July 2, 2012 at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village.

She was born on September 6, 1925 in Vicksburg and was a daughter of the late Wesley C. and Barbara R. (Stahl) Smith.

She was married to the late Charles W. Brouse on October 1944, in which they celebrated over 40 years of marriage until his death.

Mildred was a homemaker and a farm wife. She enjoyed gardening and growing flowers.

She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Lewisburg, as well as the Order of Eastern Star, Lewisburg Chapter 394.

She is survived by one son, and daughter–in-law, David C. and Cathy Brouse of Middleburg, one daughter, Anna E. Lafferty of Eugene, OR, three sisters; Ruth K. Brouse of Milton, Mary L. Catherman of Mifflinburg and Margie Deitrick of New Columbia, seven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren

Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two daughters; Carol P. Treibley and Barbara J. Buchanan, two brothers; Clyde W. Smith, and an infant brother and two sisters; Betty L. Zartman, and Ada M. Smith.

A public viewing will be held 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at The Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front St., Milton. Everyone will meet at the Dreisbauch Chuch Cemetery in Lewisburg 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2012 where the graveside service will be held with the Reverend Paula Gustafson officiating.
