YORK - Ralph D. Parks, Sr., 78, died Monday, August 13, 2012 at his home.

A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 5:00 PM Friday, August 17, 2012 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York. A viewing will be held from 3-5:00 PM Friday at the Funeral Chapel.

Born April 3, 1934 in Altoona, PA a son of the late William C. and Verna B. (Wonders) Parks, he retired from Berg Electronics. He was a member of Hawks Gunning Club and enjoyed showing Afghan Hounds and Doberman Pinschers. Mr. Parks was a US Navy veteran of The Korean War.

Mr. Parks was is survived by three sons, Ralph D. Parks, Jr. and Kelly R. Parks both of York, and Robert S. Parks of Dallastown; two grandchildren, Kalie M. Parks and Robert S. Parks, Jr.; three sisters, Beverly Curfman of Holidaysburg, PA, Madeline Hanley and Marilyn Wilt both of Altoona. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Smith, and Jean Soyke.
